Trump: 'Republican Senators must come through' on healthcare

President Trump said early Friday morning that GOP plans for ObamaCare repeal and replacement “must happen” as Senate leadership works to gather the necessary support for its revised legislation.

In a series of early morning tweets, President Trump said, “Republican Senators must come through as they promised,” laying responsibility for the bill’s passage at the feet Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Senate Republicans on Thursday revealed their latest healthcare overhaul legislation, aimed at shoring up support among conservatives after the original bill was pulled from a procedural vote before the July Fourth recess.

Moderate GOP senators are demanding changes to the healthcare plan before a floor vote planned for next week.

Two Republicans have already announced their opposition to the revised bill, and McConnell can’t afford to lose any more with every Democrat said to vote against it.

Trump’s messages appear to have been sent from Paris, where the president is set to attend Bastille Day celebrations on Friday.

It's still not significantly different from the bill he called "mean", it breaks his own promises and he's done zero work to try to actually specifically sell this and why it's better.

Why should they honor their promises when Trump isn't going to honor his?

He promised to get everyone beautifully covered at a tiny fraction of the price, and he promised not to touch Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security.

If they pass this bill it breaks his promises to get everyone beautifully covered at a tiny fraction of the price, and not to touch Medicaid.

He doesn't seem to understand that the president (or past presidents, anyway) actually work with Congress to get bills passed.  He's said he's just waiting in the office, "pen in hand," waiting to sign the GOP bill.  And he won't be happy if he doesn't!  That's it.

This fool has no clue.  None.  Not even a little one.
