Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) compared Donald Trump’s rhetoric to that of Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin in a speech delivered on the Senate floor. Watch the video above. Flake previewed the speech on Monday.

Flake said Trump’s remarks should be “a great source of shame” for the Senate and the GOP and says his attacks on the media are an “assault as unprecedented as it is unwarranted.”

In October, Flake announced he is not going to seek re-election and delivered a sharp rebuke of Trump on the Senate floor. Flake, the establishment candidate, was seen as highly vulnerable to a Trump-allied challenger.

Sarah Sanders Rips Jeff Flake: He Doesn't Care About Oppression, He Served as a Mouthpiece for the Cuban Regime

In case you missed it, earlier today Arizona Senator Jeff Flake took to the Senate floor and compared President Trump to Joseph Stalin.

Flake did the same in an op-ed earlier this week and now, the White House is responding.

"I found it quite interesting that he [Jeff Flake] is coming out to attack the President considering he's the one that was recently defending an actually oppressive regime. He went to Cuba a few weeks ago and served as a mouthpiece for the oppressive Cuban government," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said during the daily briefing Wednesday. "He's not criticizing the President because he's against oppression. He's criticizing the President because he has terrible poll numbers."

Flake visited Cuba late last year and argued he saw no evidence U.S. diplomats in Havana were attacked by the communist Castro government. Diplomats suffered brain trauma and severe hearing loss while stations at the embassy. He also backed President Obama's "normalization" of relations with Cuba in 2014, despite the regime's ongoing and egregious human rights abuses.

A dictator who killed millions in a forced famine in order to undermine the Ukrainian government because it could pose a threat to Russia and Stalin's rule? That Stalin?  The one who did not want the Ukraine to be independent and who wanted to rule them so he killed them when they didn't agree with his stance?

I don't think Flake knows who Stalin is if that is who is using to compare Trump to.

LOL
Sarah!🤪

Flake is saying Trump resembles a dictator. He’s not quite as horrible as Stalin but he’s trying to obliterate everything good done by the past presidents and replace it with what HE wants our country to be,which is rather bigoted.

And the people who elected him want it to be. Flake has no support in AZ, and would never be reelected. But he's not going quietly. He's a jerk. Good riddance.
