Can a woman run an entire country pregnant and with a newborn? I’m not sexist but wow, this seems crazy

I don't see the issue.

I don't even see how it is crazy.

Umm. Do we become inept or disabled once pregnant?

Why should this be an issue for anyone? Being pregnant and having a kid doesn't mean she can't do her job. Is politicians having children suddenly some kind of issue?

Why would she not be able to do it. We don't lose our abilities to think, walk, and talk when pregnant or have a baby.

You do know that it's not just one person running the government in New Zealand, right ?

If 85% of Americans are expected to pick up and go back to work within days of birth, I'm sure someone with her resources could do a fine job of it as well....

I'm not sexist, but..... the very fact that you asked this suggests you are.

I posted this last night...she is my new Shero :-)

Her partner is going to be a stay at home dad and she is taking 6 weeks off, in that time the VP will take over as acting PM...she will be easy to be reached during her maternity leave.

New Zealanders are ecstatic.

A radio show host asked her when she was running for PM if she was going to get pregnant and is that fair on those voting for her.  She basically told him to F off...it was inappropriate in this day and age to ask a woman that question.

I love what she is doing in NZ.

Congrats to her!

Pregnancy is not a disease. You don’t become incapable of working because you are pregnant.
