Ready for a second stimulus bill? Nacy Pelosi says she is planning on one!
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she is open to introducing a
second stimulus bill, but it's too early to determine the size of such
a package and the timing on another major economic measure.
“We have to keep the door open to see how it goes,” Pelosi told
reporters Tuesday following a House Democratic Steering and Policy
Committee hearing on the economy.
But Pelosi said she wanted to give the $787 billion stimulus package
passed last month time to work before she starts making promises on a
second stimulus. Pelosi also accused the Washington media and cable
news establishment of taking an overly critical approach toward the
first stimulus — and expecting too much too soon.
“We hope it will be sooner rather than later that [the stimulus]
catches fire in Washington, D.C. But we aren’t waiting,” she said.
“This is a fiscally sound package,” she said. “This is market-oriented.”

I wondered the same thing about the debt as PP said.
I read somewhere today that we have added 500+billion debt in not even a year.
I'm making a list right now on what I can buy with that extra 10$ a week so I can be stimulating the economy. wait I can just go be a prostitute and make money doing that! Yeah! (j/k)

So going into debt for an illegal war is ok, but not when it is an effort to save our country from bankruptcy. No, Americans aren't warlike at all are they?
Also, the majority of the stimulus is not to go specifically to us. The majority of it is going to states who will be using it for projects to provide jobs. The amount going to us is really minor. We're not getting a chunk like last time. That one was completely useless. This one is meant to build jobs. If it works, that is what is going to save our economy. Not giving Americans who were irresponsibly spending in the first place big chunks of money. It would go to credit cards, since those have all been racked up. The housing bailout is iffy for me. I think if they had given homeowners the money they gave to the banks, mortgages would have been paid off and there would be no housing crisis making the housing bailout unnecesary.
And encouraging birth control is not what china did. China forced birth control. I would expect by limiting the tax money we get back for each millionth child we have, or by limiting the number of children that can be covered by welfare would be a safe encouragement for birth control. Not imprisonment or forced abortions which is what occurred in China. Or making birth control more readily available getting rid of BS abstinence only programs and start working on programs to end teen pregnancy. What Pelosi is talking about is keeping those who can't afford it, like the mom of the Octuplets, from having so many children just to milk the system. She can afford to have 5 children. The Duggars can afford what is now 17 children/ O can afford the 2 I will have without welfare (although I am on WIC). This is not some nefarious plan to start forcing abortions on people. Everyone reads so negatively into what comes from people they don't like. Even I ( a fervent bush hater) recognized that there were some good moments for Dubyah. I can't remember them, but I remember thinking...huh, that's a good idea. Because I am a grown up and I am willing to look at the situation as it is instead of villainizing what I don't agree with.

lol Good luck with that. This is a time when I am grateful my husband is military. Sacrificing our time together for 6 mos is better than the constant worry of not having any money. (except for the fact that I have to give birth without him)
