Hot Topic (3/18): What do you think about Madonna adopting another baby?

I found this in CafeMom's Daily Buzz:

 Is Madonna Adopting Again?

madonna adopting malawi

Is Madge going to be mommy once more?

Madonna is thinking about adopting another baby from Malawi. The recently divorced, 50-year-old pop star is, as we all know, already mom to Lourdes, 14; Rocco, 8; and David, 3.

"Many people—especially our Malawian friends—say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister. It's something I have been considering, but would only do, if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government," said Madonna in response to e-mailed questions from a Malawian newspaper.

Madonna, who adopted her youngest son David from Malawi, also said, "It is a big priority for me to educate my son about the world, but always to stay connected to his Malawian culture."

What do you think about Madonna adopting another baby?

Does the fact that she's now 50 and single matter or not?

Do you think she should adopt from the USA instead?

What do you think about Madonna adopting another baby?

 It doesn't affect me much.

Does the fact that she's now 50 and single matter or not?

Yes, but don't leave out she's in great shape, very active and rich.  If she were in poor health with no money, her being 50 and single would be a concern.  It doesn't seem like she's ready to slow down, so maybe she's doing the mom thing she didn't do earlier in life.

Do you think she should adopt from the USA instead?

I don't think it matters where she adopts from.  It's a child that needs a home.

Those poor children live in conditions we can only imagine, OF COURSE, she should adopt a child if she wants to. It would be 100 x's better for them to live with her than where they are now.

I think it is wonderful that she is able to adopt and help these children.

I am a very traditional mother and truly believe that it takes two to make a child and therefore it is suppose to take two to raise a child. Unfortunately we live in a society that does not get that! Yes, it can be argued that the child would have a better life.....what is a better life....with material comforts or a two parent family? Does this child know what is a better life? Is Madonna going to be there for this child when he is ill at 2AM? Will Madonna see him take his first step? Is Madonna going to have dinner every night with him and ask him about his day? Is she going to tuck him in and be there in the AM when he wakes up? Will she take off her heals and play ball with him? Will she be there to discipline him and teach him the difference between right and wrong? I really don't know...I only know what the media lets me of Madonna.

I think she is a mastermind at staying in the publics eye. She will do whatever it takes to stay in the spotlight.

Oh yea, they're better off staying an orphan in Malawi because they will definatly get all those things there. FYI I am a single mom and take total offense to your generalization that if you are single you can't raise a child in a proper way. Have you even met a single parent family? Some are great some aren't, just like some families with 2 parents are great and some aren't. It's complete ignorance to assume if you are single you can't raise your kids correctly.

Any child from any country would be lucky to have her as a mother. She should adopt a few more. I do not think 50 is too old. I think it's wonderful when celebrities adopt. Anyone who is able to adopt and loves children, should!

As long as she adopts this one legally and doesn't steal it like she did with Baby David...  fine.

As for adopting from foreign countries...  honestly I wish people would look in the US first.  There are plenty of children here that need homes.
