Should Mom with Porn Past Adopt?

Mom of two Anne Gale used to run an erotic website called anne34dd.com. It featured nude videos and pictures of her. On the site, she declared, "I am a Mom, Wife and Exhibitionist!! In that order!" Now she's running a daycare in her home, and wants to adopt two foster kids, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The birth mother of the two children (both younger than 4) is less than thrilled, and is now fighting to regain custody. Birth mom Rachel Voight's attorney says the Gales have a "morally deficient lifestyle" that her client didn't know about until recently.

But the Gales' attorney says there is "no correlation between [the Gales'] ability to parent and their prior lifestyle choices," according to court papers filed by their attorney.

Do you think Anne should be allowed to adopt, or does her past deem her unfit to do so?

I have no problem with it. I think the Bio mom is like the pot calling the kettle black. You don't have kids in foster care as a direct result of stellar mothering skills. In the majority of cases, drug use or untreated mental illness is to blame. So, for the attorney of the bio mom to say that adoptive mom's PRIOR lifestyle was "morallly deficient" is highly hypocritical. I think it is cruel to take children away from a family they have bonded to. As long as adoptive mom and her family pass the criminal checks, I say yay her for wanting to adopt children.

You shouldn't judge a book by it cover.  Everyone has done something in their past that they may or may not be a shamed of.  The real question is why r these childeren in foster care any way.  For some reason the mom couldn't take of them, let the women apot the kids proved for them.  The kids are the most imporant thing

I can't believe this is even a real question?

Hypocrite!  Those kids mother [s] have no where to talk.  Sheesh.

Let her adopt, so what she liked taking nude photos.  Tons of women do!

Is she a good mom?  Then let her adopt.

The bio mom wasn't exactly a pillar of society either. Poor kids.

Hmm, let me see. A mother who can't take care of her kids is complaing about someone who can.... because she runs an adult site? That is the pot calling the kettle black. When your kids are in foster care, you loose your right to be the judge and jury. Let the court decide. She apprently is fit enough to have foster kids in her home so, she is fit enough to be an adoptive parent.

Hmmmm I don't know. In theory, the only important thing is that they are good parents who love their kids. However, in reality I wouldn't want my kids exposed to that kind of thing, so I can understand the bio moms point to an extent. I agree that if she had her kids taken, she probably had some problems of her own, and has no place to complain. On the other hand if this woman was doing drugs or prostituting, would it still matter if she was a 'good' parent? I know I would NOT want to be thekid, whose friends told them they saw their mom naked on the internet.

I say let her adopt!  The biological mom obviously isn't a stellar parent, or her kids wouldn't be in foster care to begin with.   As long as the adoptive mom takes good care of the kids, it shouldn't matter that she's taken some nudie pics of herself.  Let someone who can care for the kids adopt them - or they'll be back in the system again thanks to bio mom.

If you think nudity is *evil* (cue dark, demonic music) than I can see why you'd think she'd be an inadequate mother.

But if you have common sense and see that nudity is a natural, beautiful thing that you would judge her motherly abilities by how she MOTHERS her children.
