My only problem with shows like this is that they focus too much on the shock value of "gasp, look how these women are treated there!!"  and not enough on real education as to the underlying issues.

Primarily, highlighting the fact that the attitudes and the problems they create are cultural, as opposed to religious.  B/c many American viewers do not watch shows like this to learn something, but rather to have their assumptions validated...so a passing mention does not do it for them.  The real root of problems in Afghanistan is cultural.  If it were not, there would be a Taliban in every country where Islam predominates.

In Islam [the religion] women have many more rights than most women all over the world, for example we are to have our own money just for us to do with what we please, our husbands are to provide for us and that means everything, home food clothes etc,,,the list is long.....

Palestinian People are defending themselves and their Land and their Homes against Israeli war crimes and Israeli war criminals, both military and civilian.

Good points. What can be done, if anything? And what in their culture manifested the Taliban, and why only in Afghanistan?
