Story found on the FRONT Page of the Vancouver Sun:

This photo of U.S. President Barrack Obama's daughter Malia, wearing a peace-symbol t-shirt touched off a storm of epithet-laced comments on the conservative 'Free Republic' blog

I think it's horrible... no one should talk about the First Family in that way... although I wouldn't be suprised if some of those comments were from Liberals trying to make that  blog look bad... it wouldn't be the first time they did something like that.

Yes, it's quite despicable.  I can't believe that they suspended the comments and then re-opened them?  This kind of racist rhetoric, once only left to fringe groups, is starting to make its way to mainstream sites.  That's bothersome...and scary, imo.

Quote:

After attention from other blogs, the thread was suppressed and placed under review, but before long it was returned to the site intact, and attracted a new series of racial slurs when the original complaint email was posted publicly to the site, with the sender's email address intact.

"The writer has a point," wrote site owner Jim Thompson sarcastically. "We should steer clear of Obama's children. They can't help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist pig."

There's actually a link on Free Republic about this article.  Here's the link.  I only read about 8 replies when I saw this:

What part of this was racist? I've seen white people in the ghetto and streets too. And I thought the Left liked kids having abortions?

Way to stay Klassy, Freepers.

Really? That seems more of a republican tactic than a liberal one, but then again, I'm just speculating. When has something like this been done before? I'd like to see the source for that accusation.

Have you been hiding under a rock? Liberals have been saying things for years and getting by with it. A revolution is coming.

Fake comments happen all the time on blogs... do you have a source for YOUR accusation LOL???  You are correct on one thing... the hypocracy is disgusting... although it lies with the Liberals who slander Sarah Plain and her family every chance they get, saying just as inapropriate and disgusting comments as the ones that were seen about the Obamas.  Did you care then?  Of course not.  You libs only cry foul when it's another Liberal getting slammed... that's  the REAL hypocracy in all of this...

"Recently Letterman came under fire for making a joke about Bristol Palin and was attacked by the RW. "

"Do as I say not as I do" is synonymous to some Republicans.
