Maybe I'll get some response, now! LOL

Real post: (Sorry, not that dramatic!)

I was wondering if you think the federal, state, govt. employees are paid well? Too much? Too little?

Don't you think corporations are so good at scaring us away from govt. because the govt. doesn't outsource to (much) lower wage countries, or insource with illegally America-dwelling humans-pssst-(they aren't really aliens), or just insource with Indians;others, who will work for less?

Just a thought. Am I off base? I was thinking of this from another thread that said govt. programs are going broke.

And maybe it is because they must pay a LIVING WAGE to their employess, where their competitiors-Corporation- do not.

Didn't it all start with the original corporate whore?:

depends on the person, but I was always wanted a job with the gov't b/c they had awesome benefits and decent pay. I know a couple of people that had incredible pay (she worked hard) while others sat on their computer all day playing with FB etc.

btw I am : pro-choice, anti vaccine, pro breasfeeding, not sure about god, and socialism will not work here (imo) LOL

This is kind of a vague question.

I have several friends who work for the government and they make ok salaries, nothing they are going to get rich off of. My mother worked for the government too and she always complained that they hardly ever got raises. She's retired now. I think it depends on what you do and where you work. The govenment has so many jobs, being ither a state or federal, etc government job.

The government doesn't always have better benefits either but they do have alot of paid days off. I have better health insurance then my mom did when she worked for the government. My friends always tell me to go get a job with the government but when I ask what they get paid, I'd have ot take a pay cut to work where they work at.

I didn't check this out because of your title either

I used to work for the federal government. A military research installation. The pay was only okay. Nothing outstanding. The benefits were good. My ex still works there.....after all these years....30+ years. He's not being paid an outstanding amount. My daughter started there while in college. They did pay her college, because of what she does. But one of her contacts made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Double her pay, pay off her college contract, all moving expenses. This was at age 24. Naturally she took the deal.

Now as far as outsourcing in government jobs. Not anything connected with what they (ex & daughter) do. He designs tents, helicopter covers, etc. She designs special operations gear. All things are made in the USA. Although she works for a private company, all her contracts are government contracts. They are restricted to buy all materials made in the USA. All factories are in the USA. Even our federal prisoners are making uniforms, etc.
