Occupation 101 - finally watched it.

Thanks to all who recommended this documentary.  Last night, I grabbed a bottle of wine, my laptop and headphones, and sat out on my back porch so I'd have no distractions and it was such a lovely night.  It was worth the 2 hours.  I sat transfixed and sometimes horrified.

I highly recommend it - it's a very well made documentary with an incredible weath of data presented by top experts and the very people living it every day.  No wonder it has won so many awards. It's not dry, it's not boring, and you'll want to beat anyone that dares disturb you as you watch.

Our country funds it, and allows it to happen, because the average American (like moi) has no idea of what, exactly, is going on over there.  So I'm putting this out there (like so many others have) in the hopes to spread the word and encourage others to begin the journey I did last night.

You start here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SbjAanvUqs - it's broken down on YouTube into 10 parts, but each flows into the next.

So I'm continuing to learn.  Now, I find this:  http://www.israel-palestinenews.org/ - the headlines we don't see.  Israeli settlers protected by the army as they burn Palestinian Olive orchards.  Woman collapses as Israel army strip-searches her.  Children kidnapped and killed.  The Associated Press refuses to allow a Dutch organization's essay on Palestinians and threatens them with removal if they don't comply...

Dear God.

Here are also a couple other links you may want to check out and do some reading on. They are very easy to understand facts about the occupation

Welcome to the club JaxtheMom, although it's not a fun club. That is an awesome documentary, it was a pivotal experience for me as well. It's all just inhuman and disgusting.

It's heartfelt when one comes to understand the differences.  Thank you, and I hope others are willing to see and hear.
