Momma wanted to party.

So she left her 7-year-old son home alone with his siblings, ages 1 and 4 while she went to a nightclub, reports the Bradenton Herald.

When Rashondra Latrice Waiters, 25, came home from her clubbin' she was greeted by cops in her apartment.

That's because her son called 911 and told a dispatcher his mother went to the mall before hanging up.

Police found the 1-year-old baby with dirty diapers, as well as Oxycodone pills and a kitchen knife in the apartment within reach of all three children.

She was arrested and charged with child neglect.

Now momma will be dancing the perp walk boogy.

I would never leave my kids home alone, sleeping or not. Its one thing to run next door while your kids are sleeping and ask your neighbor for a cup of sugar or something but running off to shop or go clubbing is a totally different story and I consider it neglect. If you can't find someone to watch your kids, then you don't need to go. If I knew something like that was happening, I would probably call the cops too.

I would NEVER leave my baby home alone, never. If I'd know my neighbor left their baby home alone I would try to reach them ont heir cell and if I hadn't a number to call I'd call 911 and tell them there's a baby alone in the house. That's just insane.

what do you  mean by "leave"??  I have left the house to go check mail while my kids were sleeping. or are we talking bout the article???

if they leave them for hours on end im sorry that is WRONG, but if its just to get the mail I dont see an issue

Would depend on what was going in and how old the child was, baby has a wide spectrum because I have seen people call there 17 year old a baby.  but if I knew a mother had left an infant by themsleves and was not home I would call the cops and bring to child to my house.

They are neglecting their children

Absolutely. I would call the police. I think that if you know that a child is being abused or neglected and fail to do something about it, you are just as responsible.

There's no excuse for this- no mother should leave children that young alone, especially to attend a nightclub.

Oh, that's nice. Leave the kids alone for the night with access to a knife and pills. Sounds like a serious drug problem.

My kids are four and six and I would NEVER leave them alone.  I've gone out to check the mail while they're watching TV, but beyond that, if they're at home, then a responsible adult is home as well.

No. I would walk out the front to check the mail, but even if I were playing in the back yard, I would use a monitor.

What do you think of moms who do? 

I think some are selfish and negligent, others are clueless and negligent and I feel sorry for them because they could be risking loosing their babies.

I would first try and talk with them and let them know all of the dangers and why it is not a good idea to do it. If they continued, I would turn them in,

no i woudl not.  i have left to go do things like check mail and clean out the car... but im still on my property so its legal. and i see nothign wrong with it.

Would you ever leave your sleeping baby home alone?  No. The sad thing is this should NOT even BE an issue.
