I'm very selective in what my kids wear.  I would try different stores until you find exactly what you're looking for.  It does get frustrating!!  I can't stand the way clothing companies try to over sexualize young children, especially girls.

I find it more and more difficult to shop. I used to really like gymboree.  This year their summer clothes were are short shorts and one sleeved tops.  I think it is funny that people are so quick to have their daughters look "sexy" but then they are surprized when they dress that same way in high school.

I've noticed this also.  My oldest daughter is 10 and even the stores that I have found things in before have changed their styles.  I used to like gymboree and children's place but, it's hard to find anything in them now, childrens place does at times carry long skirts but, it's hard to find skirts that are long enough to cover but, not to long that the girls have problems getting them caught in their bikes.  I have also noticed that the prices for appropriate clothes are way higher than the prices of inappropriate clothes.  On  a side note old navy still has some of their long denim skirts online only.

I have all boys, but even with them I am finding it difficult to buy things for. We are modest for all. We also don't believe in nasty words or inappropriete images on clothing. I have also noticed that there seems to be this fasination with marketing things/movie/games for children when they are rated for a much higher in age crowd. I would have never thought to let my child watch Star Wars at 5, but now with the Lego Star Wars and cartoon they have... well, it does seem to market for that age group.

I really do not like alot of the t shirts that have sayings on them.  I know they are supposed to be funny but, they are really just disrespectful or rude.  I really don't understand why people let their children wear them.

RedJ.... what I dislike even more are shorts or pants that have words on the butt for girls.  Some of them are little girls.

Yuck.... why draw peoples eyes to a part of a child like that?

One of the reason I end up buying a lot of stuff in the boy's department for my 3 year old daughter.

Yes... I was so thankful/proud yesterday when we went shopping for a bday dress for my 4 year old when she picked something from this one store, I can't even begin to spell it right lol.. is named after a South African fruit. Anyway everything in there is all layers. We let her wear shorts here at home (and out depending on the pair)  and everything but still... Their outfits are so stinking cute and I don't have to worry about that with them.
