So, I am single now. There is this guy who lives in the building behind me. Before when he would come around my husband would tell him to go away for me and made sure he did. Well, since my husband left this man has been parking across the lot behind my van, standing in front of my van, smoke a few cigs and peer into my apartment. Usually I close the curtains and ignore him. Yesterday I was doing dishes but wasnt out of my night clothes yet. I couldnt leave my kitchen without him seeing me in them and they are not my usual modest wear. I finished the dishes and when I looked to see if he was still there he smiled and waved as if staring at me is normal! I finally got my 4 year old to understand me when I told him to shut the curtains for me. Arg! So, my neighbor and I went and got lace to cover our large back door and window. She too has been creeped out by this guy and her husband has told this man to leave many times too. I hope the lace works to let in the light but he cant see in unless he tresspasses. Creepy huh?

Oh, my!  That's really very creepy!  Sounds like a stalker!  Jeez!  Be extremely careful around him-try to keep an eye out, especially if you come in at night!  It's too bad someone can't do something about making him leave!  Has he ever been reported to the manager?

I'd be very cautious of him.  When you catch him doing it, you might want to concider calling the police.  They could escort him away from the property and let his know if he keeps it up he could get arrested for stalking.  I might go as far as to keep a written record of dates and times.  Since your husband's not around to scare him off, that may have to become the police's job.  I'd also consider getting an alarm system if you don't already have one, and carrying some sort of protection (mace, a knife, etc).  These are the sort of creepers that sometimes turn to rape.  He may feel a claim to you, especially since your husband left.  I don't mean to scare you, but to caution you.

I have reported him to the manager and spoke with the police. Since he is a renter in another building, he can stand on property. As long as he doesn't try to enter my apartment or patio, I cannot do anything about it. He has been seen less and less since we put up the lace.
