How Long Were You Engaged?

Congratulations... now you're engaged!

There's a lot to plan--from the place and guest list to the honeymoon, etc... and of course, the duration of the engagement.

I know people who have been engaged from 3 months to 5 years. Some feel 3 months is too short and 5 years is way too long. A majority of couples are only engaged 1-2 years because they have so much planning to do and/or want to wait things out to make sure the person they are engaged to is really the one. Others want to get married right away (hence, the 3-month engagement) while others may be engaged for 3+ years because of financial or career circumstances.

How long were you engaged? In your opinion, how long is too long?

I was only engaged for a year and a half. I think 5 years is a little too much. Come to think of it, anything after 2 years is probably too long.

My hubby and I were engaged for 6 months... for us, the shorter the better. We knew we didn't need to wait a really long time bc we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives togetehr ;)
