When is a good time to tell kids that Santa isnt real, but the spirit of Santa still lives. Asia is 3 so i have awhile to go. but whats a good age? or should you just let them figure it out on their own?

I would honestly either wait until they come to you with it, or unless they r just way too old to believe.
I think when they start to really scrutinize and question things but we don't do santa at all around here.

Let them believe for as long as they can. when they stop believing then it is just no fun anymore.
I tell my kids when they come home from school and says that the kids in there class don't believe in Santa that they will not be getting any cool toys from any more and that it will be there lose not yours so keep believing
I wish the the spirit of Christmas would last forever

We've never really told our kids that Santa is real. We never give gifts from Santa. We don't leave out cookies for him.
But each of our four kids has been a true believer when they were little. I'd just go along with their questions: "What do you think?" and turn back their questions on them. :)
They all sort of figured it out . . . my youngest is 7. I really try not to confirm or deny until they are absolutely clear that they have come to their own conclusions.
(I'm not anti-Santa . . . I just wasn't raised observing that tradition. I never got anything from "Santa" . . . so it's not something we just naturally do. I like the story of St. Nick and all that, but we emphasize that Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ.)
I was raised the same way but not my hubby!! I told my kids when they where around 2 that there was no santa!! My hubby's family dose not like me doing that but there my kids not theres!!! But thats my thought!!!!
