Hey all I was wondering what kind of Birth COntrol you use?  I want to do a Mirena but Ive heard stories of them falling out, and hurting etc.  A friend of mine uses a Nuva Ring but she cant hae babies she only uses it for regular cycles, Is it effective?  And what about the shot?  Does it make you gain weight?   I cant do pills because they make me bleed heavy nonstop, and my doc told me it could potentially make me anemic.  Anyway I need Advice so after I have this baby I can narrow down what I want to be on. THANKS!

i had the mirena after my baby was born and i liked it and it never hurt it was just fine. one day after sex it fell out and i think maybe while ur on a period ur cervix is more open and its more likely to fall out. well i couldnt afford another one so i had to go on the pill but i hate the pill cuz it makes me nauseas and weak just like when i was pregnant. if u can get the mirena with ur insurance or medicaid i would recommend it cuz i loved not having to worry about a pill or having a surprise pregnancy. now i am always afraid i'm gonna end up pregnant. just once it would be nice to have one i planned. anyways good luck

I have implanon, its the new one that just stays in your arm, its the length and width of a matchstick. and let me just say. its AWESOME. no more period symptoms my period is like a day long the end. and no side affects, no weight gain no break outs no mood swings, nothing. This is the only birth control i would recommend for anyone. It's the only one I will ever use!

I have mirena and I love it.  I did have some cramping the first 2 or 3 months, but once my body was used to it I was fine.  I only had 1 period after it was put in that was 1 1/2 years ago.  I have no idea what its like to have a period anymore.

Now that we have our two wonderful children, DH got a vasectomy, so we are not using birth control anymore. We did not use birth control before that because I had horrible reactions to it.

I had Mirena for 3 years, never had any major problems with it. Just had it out 2 weeks ago, because we're TTC.

I have mirena, it only hurt for a week or two after it was put in. I love it, i've never been able to take the pill on time, this way i dont worry about it. I do still have a cycle every month, but it only lasts about 3 days now. :)

I have Mirena and I have no complaints. I have for almost two years now. It lasts five years and if my DH and I decide and the time I have to get it taken out that we still don't want anymore, I may get another one. Well, I hope this helps.
