Try starting it with something unexpected.  Or a question.  Your readers will be more likely to want to read if the first sentence is something that draws them in.

Something like, "If you saw me, you'd never know that I've lived in fourteen states."  Or, "Did you ever think you'd meet someone who __________?"

Does that help at all?

Most importantly, just start writing.  You can always revise it later.

And have fun!

Actually I'd go with what the PP said.  I had to do a similar paper, and started it with the same opening.  I also did one once where I listed three interesting facts:

"September 19th, 2986 was a fairly average day."  (I listed a few headlines, the weather, and sports scores of the week).  "But in a hospital room in Mobile, Al a new life entered the world, turning an average morning into an extrodinary day for ____ and___ _____.  From that day on, life was anything but average...

And then I went onto the body of the paper.
