I just orderd a gun,locks etc, would you have ? *updated*
Finally im feeling better and up and moving around. hubby and i went shopping for a gun. recently a neighbor almost had her home broken into and we had someone trying to get last night. now the cops said its all random etc , but this being a complex and i walk my dog at night i dont feel safe while hubby is working nights. hubby has a shotgun but i can hardly use it b/c of a bad shoulder i wanted something handheld. so i got one. i am going to feel so much better at protecting my children. would you have gotten one ? already friends are bashing away.
before any bashing : we also bought gun locks ( with keys) and a safe to keep it in well above reach from kiddos. and we both have our license

yes, I would have also got one. I was raised around guns, so when I hear about them its no big deal like it is to some people. Good for you for getting a safe and locks!
Nope I don't believe in guns in the home... Personally I would have gone with a home security system and a dog I would trust to keep us safe. I am not bashing you though. ;)

yep, we;ve gone to the range and tried different kinds and im able to use it, it's perfect, we even got it fitted for locks etc, i cant even reach the shelf where i ahve it, i need a step ladder,
guns scare the crap outa me... so no, i wouldn't have. i would much rather get an alarm system, lol (if we had our own place.. we rent too)
I think you should do whatever you have to in order to feel safe. Who cares what others think, they aren't in your shoes.
