for 2 month old daughter. She has been sick with  cold for two weeks.. At first it was just a stuffy nose, so we bought the nose suckers for newborns, and a vicks humidifer. Now as of yesterday she has started coughing constantly. At about 5am this morning she started coughing so voilently that she throw up , not once but twice. She is no longer eating 5 ounces but 4 onces ( only 4 if i really push her) I do believe she is not eating so much do to have a HUGE gas bubble or bubbles in her tummy that i can not seem to get out, no matter how much i burp her during her feeding. I am thinking they arent coming out because of all the mucus in her throat and in her stomach? i am really exhausted because of her being so sick... i was thinking about getting infant mucinex and gas medicine? but i was wondering what other people thought i should do.. i have also noticed all the snot in her nose is green, dark green.

I DO HAVE A PEDITRATION appointment for both my girls on thursday ( i have a 4 year old as well), but they cant see her any sooner then that, i tried.

i really dont know what to do, and am wondering if anyone else has any ideas or has dealt with something similar that they think helped there kids through this. I really do think she has a sinus infection but again i cant do anything till thursday and just want ways to ease her suffer until she can be seen.

I don't know if I would use the mucinex but definately try the gas drops.  Have you tried sitting in the bathroom with here while you have the hot water running.  It will break up some of the mucus and you will probably be able to suck out some more of it.  other than that I don't know of anything else you could do.

Well, I have two teenagers and a 4 year old. I have been through all kinds of illnesses. First of all I picked out a doctor that was on call all the time and is a saint --- The most kindest - - honest spirit. I call him with any questions that couldn't wait til office hours and that my mom couldn't help with. Green = infection -- 2 weeks = infection -- viral has turned into infection--- could go to organs and she will be in the hospital-- is she hydrated? You can't let a 2month old go that long--- Is she still active?? My doc would prescribe over the phone to my pharm. Or  Take her to an urgent car -- If I added up all the times that my Doctor gave me something over the phone --over the past 14 years. I think I would of avoided about 150 office visits at about 75.00 a pop.

If you are that worried about the baby then come Monday call and say you have a sick appointent to make for that day!!!  Doctors offices' leave a lil bit of space for sick calls!!!

You can get one of thoes humidifiers they will help her get rid of all the mucus. but be careful when you take her out because of the humidifier her chest will be open and it can make her even more sicker

I don't like the sound of that cough and would take her today - if her doctor's office isn't open, call the doctor on call number and see what they suggest. or try an urgent care clinic.  Please keep us updated.

Yeah if her snot is green sounds like an infection and I would not wait until Thursday I would call the dr. and tell them she has to be seen, with a 2 mo. old they should squeeze her in or find another dr. or office to take her to this time.

If your dr wont see a 2 month old that has been sick for two weeks then it is time to find another dr.  I would take her to urgent care or the ER.  A bad cough and sick for that long it could be something serious.  What has her temp been.  Anything over 100.4 then she needs to be seen right away.

My baby has the same thing. Most of his snot his clear, some is green. He is barely eating. I took him to the E.R  a few days ago and they gave me a breathing treatment machine for him. It helps a lot so I would try and get that for her. I might take lil man to the E.R today if he doesn't start eating more..he eats but it is considerably less than what he usually does.

You can also buy the Baby Vicks vapor rub for her, I bought that for DS as well and it helps. Someone here told me humidifiers can breed mold..

It might be her tonsils. My son has problems with his tonsils all the time and when they start hurting he stops eating as much b/c it hurts him. My son also has a bad cough as of right now and they said he has walking pneumonia...But my son has always had a problem with his tonsils and all that good stuff he has to go see a specialist

If a fever go to the ER if her doctor won't see her.  Then I would get a different peditration that won't take a sick baby.
