Constantly constipated?? Should I try goat or soy??

My 2 1/2 year old has always had issues going number two..For the last month he has been straining and sometimes crying when it came that time! He drinks about 4 or 5 cups of 2% milk a day (I know that's probably a lot but it's his favorite and its better than a lot things)... I've actually been adding a little Karo once in a while and doing 1/2 water 1/2 milk for about 2 weeks now but not much of a change.. Should I try another kind of milk like goat or soy???

Yogurt! It does wonders! Try doing this first. My dad has lactose intolerance, and there are usually more sympoms than just constipation to look for.

My daughter has had this trouble for years and now takes benefiber 2 - 3 times a day. We use the powder form that has NO flavor to it and add it to her drinks. Check with your pediatrician first to see if it is okay since our daughter is much older. Hope this helps. When it gets real bad with use milk of magnesia to soften her stools and that works like a charm but we only do that once in a while.

My son had major issues with milk, we put him on Rice or Almond milk. It has awesome vitamins(including vitamin D) plus other stuff. I don't trust breastmilk from a different species lol and soy has been getting bashed lately as well...

God Bless

idk about certain milks but def anything with fiber like my son loves frosted mini wheats and thats always helped both of us go #2, as well as yogurt and im pretty sure water and juices help move things along as well. GL

Ask your doctor about giving him a fiber supplement

My daughter is 17 months and has ALWAYS had problems going #2.  Her doctor first had me adding Karosryup but nothing changed.  I tried every natural thing that I found on the net (different fruits and flax oil) and nothing has seemed to help.  I cut out milk completely, including cheese, yogurt etc and still nothing.  The doctor has us giving her MiraLax and over the counter product and it helps a lot!  Ask your doctor first but you may give that a try.  We have also switched her to soy milk and the combination seems to work out.  Good luck!
