Depends on age of car, type of car, how often you want oil changes, and how often you use( how many miles)

Well I currently have a 2003 yukon and it has 77,000 miles on it. does that help? I guess about 10,000 miles a year but my 17 year old will be driving it also, now since he got his license.

Make sure you factor in new tires too. Here in NC we change ours every year, but when we lived in MI it was like every 2-3. Oil changes, tires and anything you know you have to routinely fix. You can check the manufacturer's page and find out what standard replacements/maintenance are coming up...

Having him drive it going to up your costs quite a bit if he is anything like my 3 sons were at that age.  And with an older vechile you have repair costs to worry about also.  If you don't have a car payment I would (just me) put like 100-150 away in separate acct every month for not only maintence but repairs and also saving for that day you need to replace.  Sorry probaly not real helpful.

Ah i just wanted to add make sure you rotate tires every oil change if you go 6000 miles or everyother is you do it every 3000.  it will make your tires last along time!

well gas - is about $40 a week for us

every three months you need to change the oil - which can be around $25

insurance

i would also keep money back for tires etc

and you will need to get the AC serviced once a year no idea how much that costs

plus tax and registration once a year

plus state inspection once a year as its an older car

so alot basically
