Rashhhh ***Update***

My niece has a rash on her chest...a red bump on her neck...and it has spread onto her back. I told my SIL just to monitor her for a fever. They don't seem to be itchy or painful. If she develops a fever or it spreads too badly, they are going to take her to the pedi.

I've asked numerous questions:

Change in food?

Change in laundry soap?

New clothing or toys??

What could it be if nothing has changed and she doesn't have a fever?

And it's not chicken pox either. Otherwise it would be itchy right?

It has spread like crazy so they are assuming that it is chicken pox. They want to know if I want to bring DD who is almost 17 months old so that she can naturally get it. Although she has been vaxed for it. My niece was too. But she still got it.

I was going to stop having DD vaxed for it at age 3 because I know in infants chicken pox can be deadly. However, should I take her there so that she can acquire natural immunity?

Could it be irritation from drool? How old is she?

My now 5 year old had it at 9 months. her older sisters were vax'd for it and never got it. So the varicella worked in my house. Good Luck with it all!
