I'm making them for my dd's grad party.  Wondering if I can make them the night before or would they get mushy.  Anyone have any experience making them?   Thanks!

You can make them the night before and they will be fine!

Just don't use bananas. If you want to use apples put a little bit of lemon juice on them so they don't brown...

I won't use bananas or apples.  Just melons, grapes, strawberries etc.  You think I can just lay them on a cookie sheet in the fridge over night and they won't get mushy?

I made some and served them frozen last summer - it was surprisingly good!

I think I'd prepare the fruit and place it in plastic bags, the strawberries in plastic bags with a paper towel in it. They are fast to assemble, and I'd do it the morning of the event.

They wont get mushy, imo.  They would be in the fridge regardless of weather or not you kabob them ;-)

It's been a long long time since I made them (High school graduation party) but I did them the day off.  There just wasn't room for me to lay them out the night before lol!

I have, but they should NOT be made the night before---they WILL get mushy and turn brown.
