Help! Planning 1st bday party!

Hello All,

I am a first time mom of a 5month old. I live in the Baltimore, MD area and I wanted to start thinking of places I can have my daughter first birthday party. I really do not want to have it at my house but at a place where there are activities and I could bring my own food and drinks if possible. Does anyone have any ideas of a good place?

How many other kids will you have at the party and their ages?

The Science Center or Aquariaum would be great fun, but for a 1 year old, maybe overboard. How about the zoo?

Oh the zoo is a good idea, but then again the child would be turning 1 in February.

Port Discovery

There is a place called Bounce R US

or you could always do it in a restaurant, that has a private room.

Great Kids Village- There is one in Silver Spring and one in Columbia. My son enjoyed this place at 10 months even though he couldn't walk yet.

Here is their website:

I'm not sure if you little one is walking yet but there is also a cool place called Pump It Up.

Here is their website: There is one in Elkridge, Bowie, Glen Burnie, and Owing Mills.

I hope this helps. I had so much fun planning my lil ones first birthday=]

A park is a great idea. I wanted to have my sons 1st birthday party which was in May at a park a few blocks away that they even have a splash pad for the kiddies. It cost like $85.00 to reserve a paviliion there & host a party so we ended up & just had a cookout at my house. But you should check out local parks.

Her bday is Jan 31 so we would need a place that's inside. Thanks for all the great suggestions so far.

It will probably be 15 kids or so and they range from 1 to 7 years old.
