104 always rang an alarm in my mind. I'd call the doctor on call and ask.

When the temp. hits 104 the that is when seizures occur... I remember this one time my little girl had a little fever, or so I thought... The damn thermometer was marking 101... So decided to take her in because she was drowsy and had no energy... When I got to the doc her temp was 103.9... OMG... I just saw the docs nurses panic, they wet my little one hair, feet, and gave me a cold pack... She got an antobiotic shot that day... Fevers freak me out... Anyways 100.8 is a fever, I wouldn't panic but I would take her in to see the doc...

There is no set temp that causes seizures. Its all child dependent. Childrens core temps run higher then adults. 100.8 may be elevated, but it barely qualifies for a Dr visit. Definitely not ER.

Agreed!!!  I would call and ask your Pedi what their parameters are. Under 6 months of age and over 6 months of age is usually two different answers.  But 100.8 isn't anything in its self.

For us I don't just react on fever.  If the fever is 104 rectally then I will call Dr.  If under and no other issues then I just watch and if she isn't better by 72 hours or if any other symptoms pop up then I call Dr.  Four kids and I have very rarely ever been to the ER.( 2 times in 25 years)  And never for just a fever..
