What age did you take your child for their first dentist visit?

My 11 month old has 8 teeth, but I was reading online that you don't have to take them until they're 2yrs old.

I took my oldest son at 15 months and my youngest at 18 months.  Our dental insurance covered the visits so I went ahead and took them so they would hopefully be more comfortable going to the dentist than I am.

My son went for the furst time at 15 months. The new dentist wants to see my daughter at 1 year. The eye doctor says 6 months for their first visit

Its actually 3 is the first time they should go. I have to take my daughter in at 3 becasue she has a underbite, but he wasnt too concerned till her "older" teeth come in
