so i call around 2 vets they say i have 2 get an exterminator there isnt anyone around here that will come catch them for their own farms as far as the vets know. so i call an exterminator & explain my problem. she says she doesnt know what it costs all she knows is that it is $110 just 4 them 2 come out & see if THEY THINK i have a problem. HELLO! I HAVE A NEST OF SNAKES IN MY YARD THERE ARE CHILDREN DUUUHHHH THERE IS A PROBLEM! anyway it doesnt make a difference cuz they are backed up & apparently come out 2 assess the issue. not only that but they dont catch & release they just kill.....uh, snakes are a good thing even tho i dont want thhem in my yard......i give a description of the snakes & ask her what kind are they. she doesnt know but they wont hurt me & bother worrying if the dog gets bit nothing will happen. WTF?? she doesnt know what kind they r but they shouldnt be poisonous? omfg! why the hell is she even allowed 2 answer the phone? im so pissed off right now! idk if i should report them or what i so cant even see straight at this minute! before i go any further im going 2 post on craigslist & freecycle & see if there are farmers or somebody in this area who want them 4 their property.

Just go catch them and release them away from your home. Grab them behind the head and then put them in a pillow case. Or grab the tail and spin them a bit. They get all disoriented and then you can grab them behind the head. Really it's not that hard. Put a bucket our or something. If the only thing the pest guys do is kill them you can do that without a problem. Go out with a shovel and cut them up. (I don't advocate the killing of snakes)

look at this link and find the pic that looks like it.

I personally think it is a garden snake and not poisonus but I am also not a snake expert. That link will give you info on them.

Don't touch any snake if you don't know what kind it is.  There are several websites that can help you identify snakes.

Try calling your local zoo, or even try pet stores.  I am sure there is some one who can help you with your snakes.

also try this. There is a list of things to do to get rid of the snakes.

Can't you buy snake traps or something? Maybe rent a skid steer and tear the entire yard out. We used to have an issue with stray cats, and then once they tore out all of our landscaping during our remodel we never had another stray. Put an add in the paper looking for someone to come catch them, it would probably be cheaper than hiring the company you called. Just some ideas.
