So flippin stupid! the apartment we live in has cockroaches and BAD. I mean I can't make breakfast because if I leave the bacon on the counter (while cooking) they come over and crawl all over it. We turn on the kitchen light at night and they scatter. I clean out our kitchen trash can and they fall out litterally by the hundreds. I have VERY picky about how clean the house is and yes there is junk around but no old food just laying around. I drew the line when I crushed one crawling on me in BED LAST NIGHT! and I found one on my 7 month old this is BULL SHIT. I have called the landlord and they have sent a guy to spray TWICE and they are still here. I figured out why, he will come (the neighbors, yes everyone in the apartment complex of about 15ish units has them) the bug guy knocks on your door and if you are not home. He doesn't spray your place....

So the roaches just go to the place without poison for a while then come back?! Can someone give me some advice on what to do? I am working on trying to move but we are pretty low income. It's 650 sq ft and we pay $450 a month and we MIGHT be able to afford $500 a month but it's the deposite that kills us... what's more BS is that I have two jobs and my DH has one working on a second but that's another story. What can I do to move OR get this stupid ass land lord to really do something about these roaches because I am fed up!!!

p.s. I am working on saving up a deposite for a better place but all the decent places are like $700 and we only paid $500 here and I would have to wait 30 days to get that back anyways but PLEASE anyone??

Omgosh that's terrible! Can you stay with a relative until you can save enough money? I would get the heck out of there. They are never going to go away!!

Isn't there a housing authority that you can file a complaint with?

I was in a situation very similar to this almost two years ago we ended up just leaving because we couldn't get them to take us seriously. I hope everything works out I know how much living like that sucks.

if you have pressed board for your cabinents and other furniture in the place, the roaches will come back.  They love the glue that holds the board together.   I would file a complaint with housing authority since roaches are a big health concern and dont always go to the "dirty " places.  The landlord should have the authority to let the bug people into any place that no one is home during that time so that areas can be treated.

Goodness I hope that you can get it taken care of soon or at least find another place..and yes I agree, the owner of hte complex should be able to let the guy in regardless if the people are home or not and that way get everyone tended too...goodness...good luck to you, hugs

Thats terrible! Call your local housing inspector. look under city government offices or callyour local mayor's office if you need more information on who to call. The inspector will come out deem that their is a problem and cite the landlord and make him get rid of the bugs or pay a huge fine. You can report anonymously.

If you really want to move call your local HPRP site and apply for rehousing. you can google HPRP in your area to find an application site. Best wishes!

Call the housing athority for your area. That is awful. You can also buy some cockroach traps at walmart for relatively cheap
