First tooth coming in at 4 months old

my little boy is 4 months old and i noticed a little white rough spot on his gums it feels like a tooth but im at a loss is there something else it could be or is my lil man getting a tooth at 4 months

It may be but it could take a long time to break through yet.

ugh he is so fussy and i dont know what to do cuz i heard baby oragel is rough on them and makes it harder for the tooth to come in it seems as if everyone has an opinion on this and im so lost in what really works im swimming in fails

It's most likely a tooth.

sometimes a corner will cut and then it will heal over and not come through for some time.

he's so miserable its unreal plus he has a cold or its his allergies acting up something awful... this is all we need at this time is a tooth coming in cuz its been one thing after another since he has been born... first he is diagnosed with Restrictive Airway Disease then lactose sensitive then and eye infection then changed his milk for spit up then a stomach virus now a tooth oh yay im going to love this :( oh well atleast i can make him smile in between all this stuff luckily most of it has past except the sensitivity, RAD, and the allergies/cold

Maybe he is cutting one because they tend to get drooly and snotty when they do. Make sure you kinda prop his head at night so syliva does not drain to ears and cause ear infection. The time when my kids used to get a lot of those.

My son got teeth early. Try teething toys, or put a wet wash cloth in the freezer for a bit & let him chew on that. I did use orajel, but i know a lot of moms say to do otherwise, so do what's best for you.

Good luck mama, I'm sorry it's been a rough 4 months. Better days are ahead!

It sounds like he is getting his first tooth. My younger dd got her first tooth at 3 months. My oldest didn't get hers until she was 6 months.

He's probably getting some teeth. My youngest started cutting teeth at 3 months!!!
