Would you feel comfortable allowing your child fly on a plane alone?
My S/O parents live in Massachusetts, and they visit when they can but since it gets so expensive to buy two or more tickets they would like us to put our son on the plane and fly up alone. He's 5 right now but we want him to be at least 6 before we do this. I do know that airlines have a program that the flight crew will watch your child and escort the child to the gate to be picked up on the other side, I also know that the ages start as young as 5 to be in this program. My boyfriend and his sibling flew all over the place by themselves when they were little. I just don't know though. I was 25 when I flew for the first time, and I wished I got to travel as a young child. Idk any advice?

Well DD is 4 so no. I won't allow DD to fly alone until 7. My mom worked for an airline and I started flying alone at 7. We lived in Dallas and she worked in Houston. So depending on how her days off went I would fly to Houston on the weekends. Now that being said, it was different with me because my mom worked there so long she knew a lot of people and the crew knew I was an employee's kid.
I really wouldn't trust the airline to not take their eyes off my child, hence a kidnapping threat.
No No No... I would not trush the airline to take care of a 6 year old. Just do a google search of "airline looses child" and you would be horrified how many hits you will get.
My DD is 9 and there is no way I would do it. I would wait until 15 or 16.
You could probably almost buy 2 tickets for the price it would cost you to send you child.
sure why not my parents did it with us all the time ,specially me .i loved it and have many great memories . my parents also began to let me fly to foreign countries as soon as i turned 15 by my self. it was so much much i thank them so much for letting me do that n have that great experience
