Just started birth control almost 2 weeks ago & having weird symptoms?
I had an mc January 3rd and my obgyn decided it would be best for me to start on birth control since im not in a steady relationship anymore. She told me to take it the day I got my period this month, which was the 2nd (before I got pregnant my periods were the third week of the month) so I've been taking it (Sprintec) ever since, it's also my first time taking it so I think the dosage is too high for me which might be part of my problem.
My period lasted 5 days and was VERY heavy with bad cramping, now I've been having a lot of dark brown discharge for almost a week and tonight there was some blood in it when i wiped. The past few days i've been having sharp, knife-like pains around my belly button area, then tonight I've been having actual cramps and have been very dizzy. I'm worried and I don't know what it could be..help!):

I'd call the advice nurse line if you have one, otherwise call first thing in the morning
So sorry for your loss. Did your miscarriage ever complete? If not that could be part of the problem but I'd definitely contact the doctor or nurse to let them know whats going on. The spotting could be normal for just starting birth control but the sharp pains, cramping and dizziness do not sound normal. Good luck.
I already could tell from my first appt that I didn't like my doc at all, but I called today and they said only to call if the bleeding lasts longer than 3 MONTHS..not really enjoying the thought that I could be having heavy discharge and be spotting along with getting a period every month...

OMG, 3 months?! I'd be finding a new doctor for sure.
I have never heard of the birth control before but I've on a couple if different one before and by your symptoms the medicine is definitly too high for you I've been on both ortho-try-cyclen regular and low one I've been on the ortho-try for almost 4 years almost (I have hypotrhyroidism so it helps me) I think you should try ortho-low.
