Growing up my parents were divorced and my dad only paid $50/week for two kids. And most of highschool he didn't pay any. He didn't pay extra for doctors, school, activities, childcare or anything.
I do not know what normal is, but we have been LUCKY to get ours reduced because we have to take care of our son too. They did not want to take that into consideration. We do not mind paying. My fiance has a daughter and he should pay to take care of her. We now pay about 400 a month for one child.
I would never complain about having to pay, but I will complain about the fact that we have to pay and my fiance does not even get the right to see his own daughter. The mom didn't even decide to let us know about her until she was 9. That is effed up in my eyes. My fiance was told by the family court in our state that if he wants visitation he will have to get a lawyer and take her to court. We cannot afford a lawyer with the child support we pay and everything else. We have tried to figure out a way to get a cheap or free lawyer, but my fiance has to pay for us to be able to live and pay that child support. He cannot take time off of work. I do not feel that we should have to go through all of that trouble if we pay child support and there is no other reason that he should not get visitation. We do not do drugs, we have a nice stable home, and we do not have any criminal background of any kind.
Sorry "Vent" over, but I'm just frustrated.
But I know somebody who's gets $50/week for each kid

My SO pays around $1000 a month for 1 kid right now. But it's fucking ridiculous high.
I hope y'all are able to meet his daughter soon. I don't think its fair to have to pay for a child your not able to see because of the other parent unless there's a good reason (safety of the child)

My ex pays $516 for 3 and DH's ex is ordered to pay $256 for 2 but rarely pays. DH's ex claims she is ordered to pay way too much.
