I took my son to the doctors today because he was coughing and I suspected an ear infection! Well I was right he has an ear infection and the doctor asked me if I have a vapor at home to help him breathe! His breathing is getting worse and worse and he tries to cuddle but then can't breathe he sits down and I can hear him wheezing and he stands up but can't walk for long! I am.debating on taking him to the ER so they might be able to help him breathe! Please help

If he is having that much trouble yes, do you have an urgent care? they are open later but not as expensive.

The cost is not the issue as he has really good insurance! The urgent cares here take forever

1 mom liked this
Personally, if it were me, and he was running that fever and having that much trouble breathing, I would prolly take him in to either Urgent care or the er.

If his chest is indenting when he breathes a trip to the Er is necessary. If it is cold outside where you live step outside for a minute and see if it helps the breathing.
I hope he feels better soon!!

If the doctor diagnosed an ear infection did he give you a prescription for an antibiotic? Have you given it to your son?

Was his temp 102.7 when at the doctors? That is WAY high. I suggest cold towels, or ice packs and a call to the doctor.

Hopefully you have taken your son to the ER by now, or at the very least called your doctor and asked for help.

OH, and i would shop around for a new pediatrician.

My son 6 1/2 got croup around the first of the year and the urgent care doctor suggested this.  If his breathing gets bad wrap him up in a blanket(so he doesn't freeze) and take him outside and it should help he breathe.  Also they had him doing breathing treatments, so if you have a breathing machine.
