I had hernia surgery last Friday. I went in knowing I had one hernia woke up being told I actually had two hernias. This is my second repair. My first one I was feeling great a week after having it. This surgery is killing me I'm out if pain meds as of this morning. They barely touched the pain I am having. It hurts more on the inside than the out side. So Idk what to do. What did you ladies do for the pain? I'm on the verge of crying here. I'm not sleeping because the pain. I haven't cleaned house because the pain. Ugh my csection felt better than this.

I had one December of 2010. I remember feeling like I was punched in the gut for a solid week. It was so hard to get up! The only time I remember that much pain is when I actually HAD the hernia. Are you sure the "patch" has held? Could it be poking through again. I am curious why you had two surgeries. Did it not hold or was it a different one. I would hate to go through it again.

I'd call your doctor.  Maybe you need different meds or even have it checked.  Hope you get to feeling better and try to rest!

ugh That is what I was afraid you were going to say! I got one with my daughter that I had in August of 2010. I am now pregnant again and afraid of getting another one. Ohhhhh I have about 4.5 more months of this pregnancy. I hope it doesn't happen again. My doc said that mine was really small, but OMG did it hurt.

My DH had 2 hernia surgeries and when he ran out of the Rx meds, he's take the excedrine back& body it atleast relieve a little bit of the pain so he can move around and whatnot.

Hope you feel better and recover quickly! We are going to be scheduling my sons hernia (inguinal) surgery this week.Im nervous and afraid he will be in a lot of pain as he recovers :( Ibuprofin always worked for me for severe pain, just be careful it can rip your stomach up if overused.I would try the excedrin back and body like a PP said.

eeks! I have an umbilical hernia. The doctor keeps telling me to push it back in......I pray it never gets stuck because that would require a surgery. Yikes.

No. But my son has an umbilical hernia and I was told that it would go away on its own by the time my son is 5 (he's 3 months old now). IF it doesn't THEN they will consider surgery. I have not heard of an adult having the same condition but I suppose it is possible. I am sorry you are going through all of this!
