Yes Ladies ... it's a period post so if that grosses you out then I'm sorry, but I need some help. Or just some peace of mind.
I had a c-section done on March 30th. I wanted natural birth but because I had an emergency c-section with my first child the doctor wouldn't allow natural birth because they said it was too risky.
Anyway, the surgery was a complete success and I feel great.
However, 4 weeks after surgery and I'm still bleeding. It got lighter like it was about to stop, then out of nowhere I started bleeding again and very heavily. I'm also still having contraction pains on occassion. I know they were normal for the first week or two as my uterus returned to normal, but should I still be having them after 4 weeks?
I'm currently breastfeeding and still taking my prenatels, but I have a really bad sinus infection and am on antibiotics and ear drops.
Also, I had a hard time getting my daughter to breast-feed and I'd have to pump because I couldn't get her to latch. Well, she latches now but when she first started it seemed like I wasn't producing enough no matter how long I tried to nurse her for. The nutritionist suggested Mother's Milk Tea or Fenugreek.
I'm using Fenugreek and it is working, but now I'm wondering if any of the above listed could be contributing to my heavy flow?
Shouldn't I have stopped bleeding by now? Is it normal for it to get lighter and then go heavy again?
I'm also wondering if this could be my regular period, though I thought women normally didn't get their periods while breastfeeding.
I called my doctor's office on Friday and left a message for the nurse but she hasn't called back yet. Should I be worried?
