My birth control and zoloft were suddenly stopped and now my period is late and causing me worry :(

Soooo I've always had an extremely irregular cycle, sometimes skipping months (even a year before) After I had my daughter (4 years ago) I asked to be put on the pill to regulate my cycle (and reduce pregnancy scares in my head) But this last month my insurance was canceled and I wasn't able to get my prescription renewed.

I should have started my peroid sometime with in the last 4 or so days but haven't yet. I have had cramping and slightly brown discharge, mood swings (though my zoloft was also suddenly stopped, which is making me miserable) I felt my cervix and it is soft and open enough for me to actually insert the entire tip of my middle finger into it.

I am a bit nervous as DH and I did have sex twice in the last few weeks with out a condom...and I do not want to have an other baby >.< It would be a huge relief if my period would just come already, so any suggestions for kick starting things would be wonderful.

Since you suddenly stopped your meds it can make your body react in different ways i.e. late period. Have you tried calling your docs office to see if they have samples of zoloft to give you, that med should not be discontinued abruptly like that, you should inform your doc that you had to stop. Also if you're pregnant your cervix is usually closed, open is when you might be ovulating.  Don't have any more unprotected sex until you take a test. Until then it could take several months for your cycle to regulate after stopping the pill so find back up forms of birth control.

This and the more you stress over it, that too can mess with your period.  So relax for the time being (I know easier said than done) But try.

Why in the world would you have unprotected sex if you dont want to get pregnant?

I agree with both statements. Definitely call BOTH doctors and see if they have samples! I have to get my BC by getting free samples becasue my husbands insurance doesn't cover it. They will understand and do what they can to get you the medication you need.

Well I just took a test (although an old one I have had for a long time) and it came up negative and as soon as I wiped I saw more bloody discharge, not much but red this time. This so far is a relief. I'm thinking about getting my tubes tided after this >.<

I have called my doctor as well as around at other places, and every where I've been told to "finish filling out my forms to qualify for medicaid" before they will see me and "no prescriptions or samples will be given until appointment time"

I'm glad that they hadn't put me on the heart and secure medications yet, I can't imagine with drawling from anything more on top of the hormones and zoloft >.<
