Breathing is good. Some people find as much information about the process to be helpful, but others might find that overwhelming. Hopefully you have an obgyn that you feel confident in or the place you are giving birth or the people who will be helping you give birth. It is only natural to be nervous until you are giving labor or until you have your baby in your arms safe and sound. Your husband is probably just as nervous and is trying to be strong for you.

Your nerves are normal. It's largely because, unlike women from the past, you have not been with women through the process of their labour and delivery... so you have no idea what the range of 'normal' is at all.

Quoting TigerofMu:

I would talk to your doctor, make a birth plan, learn as much as you can about what's going to happen.  It's a bit scary, and you have the right to be nervous.  *hugs*  Being prepared and knowing that I've done everything I can usually helps me, but there are some things that are out of your control, and you just need to relax.
