*edit* Debate over proper driving on the highway...
So we have a little ways to drive and were on the highway for a few when my mother starts on me about not riding over in the left lanes, I need to get over, blah blah. So....I try to appease her, this is always a problem between us. In her eyes I am the worst driver ever and I scare the hell out of her when I have her in my car.
Soooo...it's late, the road is practically deserted, so I listened to my mother and flipped my signal and started to get over.....OOPS almost right into another car!!!! I was LIVID, but thankful I saw him before I actually got over and there was no accident.
We argued the rest of the way home with me explaining my lane changing theory and how there was not a bunch of traffic needing to pass me. I gladly admitted that I make a mistake too by not looking first in my rush to appease her, but that cars are manufactured with only one steering wheel, one gas, one break. Team driving is not possible and her stunt almost caused a wreck....clearly safer than being over in my left lane minding my business. She is getting worse with age....62 this year and I swear she was better when I was 16!!!!
Ugh, and what pisses me off the most, aside from her stunt almost involving my son in an accident, is that she will tell me I'm such a terrible, HORRIBLE driver. She didn't like it when I point out I have never been in involved in anything other than a minor car fender bender when I was in high school!! My brother on the other hand has totaled one and wrecked three others, oh but HE'S a good driver and she NEVER bitches at him about his driving.
****edit I take full responsibility for my mistake of not properly checking before I started to get over. My POINT is that her doing things like that to me distracts me and actually puts us in danger. Thank got i did see the car before i actually hit them. And no, our state does not have the laws probibiting extended use of left lane. She has never been traumatized by a car accident, and she is not like this with my brother. Even after all his accidents I am the horrible driver.
