I shop sales, I shop at Aldi and farmer markets. I'm a chef and I know how to shop and make good meals with things on hand. I also stock up my pantry and freezer when I see a good sale.

How do you only spend 30 bucks a week on food, especially since you are not eating...pasta every night?

Well that's how you save money on groceries.

I shop monthly for nonperishables. Weekly or so for the fresh fruits/veggies and milk. I spend about $200/month to feed me and my 7 year old daughter.

We buy what meat is on sale & we have fresh veggies as a side dish to every meal. The kids prefer lunch at school during the school year. During the summer....they eat sandwiches & things like that. We don't buy a lot of pre-made/pre-processed foods. We shop our local farmer's market for produce. We really do plan our meals around the meat that's on sale.
My dh is diabetic so we eat low carb meals with veggies. No soda or juice. We buy milk & we have water in between.

We shop weekly for 5. We spend $50-75/week
How the heck do you pull that off?

The only big difference I see here is that we don't buy meat on sale (because that scares me) we actually dont eat a lot of meat, usuallly seafood/fish and my kids pack their lunch. I'm lucky if I only spend 150 a week for 4. :(. I guess I also don't do farmers market's because the closest one is about a 25 minutes drive, which with gas prices isn't worth it.
