This is my stove... we just moved into a house.... its a rental... and the landlord gave us half off of rent because we have to clean some stuff up... not a problem... well I have been trying to get this caked on gunk off the stove because apparently it was too hard for the previous tenants to clean after they got done cooking... I have been scrubbing like crazy! I have gone through an entire magic eraser... tried many different cleaners from dirty jobs all purpose cleaner to CLR... even tried bleach... ugh! Df is going to the store to see if he can find something for it.. any suggestions??

Could it be rust?

I've seen The Works recommended but haven't tried it-  Dollar Store and WalMart.

I wonder about dishwashing detergent.  or ammonia (be careful about mixing ammonia with other chemicals.)

Maybe try baking soda? Make a loose paste and let it sit a few minutes.

bleach wont do nothing you gotta do baking soda and bleach mixed, my stove looked like this, I would feel my sink with hot water put a cup of bleachthen had cup of baking soda let it mix then get a wash clothe ring it out on the stove then put baking soda on top of that and scrub with a rough (burl like sponge)

No. Its definitely not rust. I have tried the works. I was surprised that didn't work! Usually it is amazing!

Thank you! I will definitely try this! Well... not me... but someone will! Lol I'm 35 weeks pregnant and that just sounds like a harsh mixture!

I wondered about this too, but I'd be sure to check the container before trying it.

Don't use anything abrasive on it, since it would be scratched.
