
If this is the site you used, you ss & ch1 then SC into the first space from your first round... If that makes sense...
Are you getting lost between the single * or at the **?
I've crocheted a lot. I design my own stuff (hats, scarves, blankets, etc.) Also, I happen to be able to figure out how to design pretty much anything I see (although it might not follow whatever a pattern might say), but I can follow a pattern too. (just saying I think I can help, if I know what you need)
btw, in ch-2 sp means in chain two space (that is in the space created by the 2 chains you made in the previous round

You need to make a marker so you know where your rounds end. You start stiching round 2 into round one as your base. Maybe you can find a video. i find those help me alot more than reading a pattern.
