Ow ow ow ow!
Ladies I never had anything like this with my first, but that's what I'm guessing this horrendous pain in my poor, innocent right boobie is. It just started tonight. Anyone have any advice on how to get it to go away faster? I am still nursing on that side.

I have heard a warm compress also helps clear the duct out. Warm up and rub it. Consult a doctor to make sure it isnt something else.

You are going to want to angle the baby's latch. The chin needs to be pointed to the clogged duct. Extra nursing on that side, in that position, even if it takes baby gymnastics, will help. Do you have other kids? If not and you don't work or have a few days off, take that baby to bed, have a heat pack ready, an nurse nurse nurse! If it is already so bad that you are in serious bad pain or have a fever you may need some antibiotic help, ask your ob,... But if this is relatively new, past few days, you can probably fix it with lots and lots of nursing on that side, position change and heat. Try the breast feeding group here, those ladies are friggin awesome! Also kellymom.com . Great site!

My kids are all adults now. I never breast-fed them. But my oldest daughter had the same problem..she went to the dr. Was on antibiotics for a week. Hope you feel better.

When I had one I couldn't even let the bed sheet rest on my breast it sent me into excruciating pain :/ it was bad~ it became red and hot on the outside. My dr put me on Tylenol 3 while I was pregnant, I had to do hot compresses and soak my breast in a bowl with the hottest water I could stand and Epsom salt. Go c ur doc before it gets as bad as mine did. Good luck!!

I may call my doc today; I'm not actually running a fever yet but I feel feverish. I took a long, hot shower and did a lot of massage, so we'll see.
