Maybe just change the spelling to the other spelling since it's self explanatory. Your son likes his name, and that's all that should matter.

If he likes his name then i wouldn't change it...maybe just change the spelling of it so people will pronounce it correctly?

If he likes the name and spelling then there's not much you can do at this point. Maybe like a pp said, come up with a nickname you can use for him.

I like the name but with the correct spelling I wouldn't have known how to pronounce it.

how about asking him for help in the nickname.  people always mispelled both of my daughter's name- and when we lived in louisiana- the locals were always saying their names wrong. my girls would just tell this my name is and go on. lol my youngest daughter is special -her name is krista- no a big deal right- my daughter would and still does gets mad at you if you called her kris - yet her teacher called her kristie the whole time in school, never said anything to her
