my kids had a late lunch and a late nap it's almost 530 and they both said they are not hungry (which is weird cause my youngest cubacub is always hungry).... but they dont want to eat it's 530  so not much time till be time cause they got to bed at 8 and 830 im thinking about just skipping dinner and going to our indoor camping tonight with smores and everything is it bad to skip dinner for them and give them snack later or what they're usually on a strict schedule so this dont ever happen really and i wanna keep them close to their bedtime and everything as possible...  am i a bad mom if i skip dinner and just go to our us time with the camping bonding time cause it usually us cleaning up all the toys going out on the porch and looking at the stars and watching a movie with our sleeping bags after we've had smores and going to sleep in the living room ??

Every so often my girls and I have a movie night with dessert for dinner. It's fun and fine if it's not all the time.

I think making them something small but nutritious for dinner would be wise so that they don't get upset stomachs from all the sugar.

Once a year my DH goes on a camping retreat with a group of men from our church, while he is gone for the weekend one night we sort of skip dinner, we do a backwards dinner at a resturaunt where they get to order dessert first and then we order an appitizer.  They look forward to this every year and it makes it fun for the kids when they are missing daddy!  I think as long as you know they usually have healthy meals then it's no big deal.

1 mom liked this

Every once in a while my 3 year old son and I have ice cream for breakfast!  Sometimes it's just fun to "break the rules"
