I am getting an amniocentesis done this Wednesday in the morning to see if my babies lungs are developed well enough, if they are then they are going to go ahead and induce labor the next day. I was just wondering if the amniocentesis hurts? I'm assuming it does because it sounds painful! anything involving needles usually does. thanks!

I had three and I didn't think they hurt. There was a lot of pressure during and some mild cramping afterwards but they weren't painful.

I've had several amnios and this is spot-on. I actually think the anticipation was worse than the actual feel of the needle!
You will have to take it easy the rest of the day.
It's very dear to me, the issue of gay marriage. Or, as I like to call it: 'marriage'. You know, because I had lunch this afternoon, not gay lunch. I parked my car, I didn't gay park it."

Agree with the other ladies, mostly pressure.

The shot to numb you hurts like a typical shot, but after that just pressure.
