whats good for cramps?

I've been ttc since Jan and since I stopped my bc my period is late each month (later than what's normal for me.) And this causes each month to make severe cramps.

Do you ladies know any home remedies for cramps? I don't want too take too many pills if I don't absolutely have to.

My home remedy is being fit.

Trite? Maybe. But works. My periods are shorter lighter and less agro.

Also being hydrated and having that dark chocolate dove never made cramps worse lol.

Seriously, taking care of my body has made it more apt to take care of me.

I've been watching what I eat, I've never had cramps like this till we stopped the bc to ttc again.

Well watching what you eat doesn't automatically equate physical fitness. Seriously not trying to be rude.

I just noticed a huge difference once I'd been fit for a few years. Truly.

I'm sure people have other remedies, mine ended up being a proactive thing. I don't have to take/ do anything. No real pain. I do bloat which sucks though.

Ice added exercises and walks to my routine, I've lost weight since Jan and I wasn't over weight to begin with.

Heating pad. It was my bf my first day of my period. I personally used to hop in a cold shower, then get out and lay towels on the bed. I would lay down and have hubby blast the fan on high. I would get really cold and shiver. The shivering allowed me to concentrate on something besides the pain. After about 15 the pain subsided enough to toleration level.

Midol, a heat pad, and chocolate. Curl up into a ball and beg for mercy. lol

Seriously though the heat pad will take the edge off.
