Cat help

Our 3 yr old female cat is suddenly peeing on our bed constantly. She lost a leg so she has to be an indoor cat, but we don't know what to do. We're planning on getting her fixed real soon. Could this possibly solve the problem? Help!

How long ago did she lose that leg? Having her fixed is a good thing but probably won't help with this issue. This could be behavioral related to losing that leg and being kept indoors or she could have a bladder infection or something along those lines.

Also which leg did she lose? She could be having issues getting in and out of the box.

It could be a uti or she may be having trouble adjusting to the loss of the leg. I say take her to the vet.

She lost her hind leg a yr ago, but she still uses the litter box to poop...so getting in and out of it isn't a problem. She just started doing this, so I don't think loosing her leg is the issue. I guess it could be a uti, I didn't even think about that. Thanks ladies!

UTI or she is feeling insecure now about something to feel she has to mark the bed as her territory.  Definitely get her to the vet.

She may have a urinary infection. Take her in to be spayed, so she won't go into heat, and have her checked for infection. This should be done right away because urinary problems are painful.

She may have a uti My cat is 11 and I have the same problem. He has crystals in his urine which is like pering out glass for him. He's on special food now and can't have anything else. But I deal with this on going. Poor guy. He pees on everything possible even the beds I feel bad cuz it's not his fault. Call the vet. Good luck. Nothing worse then cat urine.

If a cat is in heat they make these awful meowing sounds...they sound painful. They rub walls etc. I don't think the urine thing has to do with it. But once they pick a spot, until u get rid of the mell they will go there.
