im in the middle of my pregnancy and im having an issue ive never had with my other pregnancy.i wake up in the middle of the night and my hips and pelvis down to my knees and some times my ankles hurt really bad, enough to wake me up. ive tried everything that has been suggested, used pillows between my legs, and a body pillow, used a heating pad, taken Tylenol, did stretches for my joints, taken warm baths before bed, taken warm baths when i wake up in the middle of the night( this last one helps the most) but the pain will not go away when i wake up it last for a few hours after i get up. does anyone have any suggestions of something else i can do? i will try anything!
I wish I had alternate advice.. but I don't. I had extreme pain in those areas too, but it was due to the extra weight of pregnancy. There wasn't anything I could do, except what you're already doing - ok.. I would prop my feet and legs up over my heart and lay there for a while - it helped with the swelling.

ive only gained 3 lbs and those are the things the dr told me to try, he also gave me tylenol 3 but im not taking them. i know that the dr prescribed them but after i looked it up they are a lil controversial as to if its safe.

It is probably due to the position and size of your child. I'm so sorry! Make sure you are taking in enough calcium too. You may need a pregnancy support belt. I had some bad pains in my lower back and legs too. Just be careful and try not to over do it during the day so your body isn't in too much pain when you lay down.
Make sure you discuss your concerns with your OB on your next visit too.
I would reduce the salt intake, elevate legs above heart as much as possible, lay on your left side if lying down. Do pregnancy yoga if possible. Take warm showers (no longer than 10-15 min tops) you dont want to elevate bp. Wear tennis shoes with support, soak ankles 2-3 times per day if possible. Use heating pad on lower back.
Your doctor may suggest things as well. Check with OB office.
Good Luck.
can i get a pregnancy support belt anywhere?

I'm sure you can. I got mine at Motherhood for around $20 and wore it from about 4mos until I got too big for it (around 8.5mos).

Personally - I didn't take them either - or any drug - while I was pregnant.
There is 1 idea that came to my mind... I'm NOT pg, but I still have problems in those areas due to a degenerative desease. Basically what happens is my back and hips are constantly out of alignment. Yours may be due to the weight distribution and position of the baby. Thats normal. You may want to see a chiropractor to see if they can help.
In the meantime.. One of the things I do - before getting out of bed is to lay on my back and do a figure 8 until my back & hips relax. Here's a video for you to learn how
