Nancy Drew, or the Hardy Boys. The Magic treehouse is good. I loved Judy Blume and Zilpha Keatley Snyder at that age. I also read books like Where the Red Fern Grows, and a dog called kitty. at that age.
Island of the blue dolphins, the narnia books, black beauty series, Little women, black stallion series, barnes & nobles right now has alot of great books (I apologize I didnt remember any names, but the 7-10 yr readers were out front)
Here's a few more: Ramona books, Charlotte's Web, Fairy Realm. The Tail of Emily Windsnap,Cam Jansen, A to Z mysteries, Trixie Belden, Ivy and Bean,e the Pooh(the original book is meant for kids this age),Judy Moody,Pippi Longstocking, Clementine(that one is about a gifted child), Katie Kazoo, Beacon Street Girls, Betsy and Tacy, and the Courage of Sarah Noble. I hope that helps.
When I was that age I loved "Little House on the Prairie," "Heidi," and "Anne of Green Gables", among others. More recent series that I've read (for a teaching class) that are really great are "Series of Unfortunate Events," "Ella, Enchanted," and, of course, the Harry Potter series.
