I have an almost 14 month old I tried to night wean the other night. It was not gonna happen so I continue to Co sleep and nurse nap and bed times. He has almost completely stopped solids since. He use to eat every thing now he's not taking but a few bite of his favorite foods. I know he's teething, it seems he is always teething. Any one else have this happen? How did you deal I'm so sleepy and start chemistry next week and need rest.

So after one attempt you quit trying to wean?  Wow Baby 100 mommy 0!  Guess who is going to be controling things by the time he is in Kindergarten?

Wow really... So much help. seriously people like you just amaze me. I wasn't weaning for good I'm letting him wean when he chooses, like it should be. Just night weaning and of any one has HELPFUL info not idiotic replies I'd love to hear.

He's not ready. If you really need him off the boob do you have someone that could take him? I hear that makes it easier.

its okay. my daughter (24 months) used to eat everything. but now (and since she was around 14-15 months) she refuses to eat for me (only me. not her grandparents.)

he should eat when he's hungry. maybe he's just not interested in his food right now. give him a bit more time.

to add to my last response. my daughter was only breastfed for 4 months. she was on formula till she was a year then toddler formula till she was around 16 months.

I have 3 kids nursed them all still nursing youngest. My son weaned at 20 months, 1st daughter 18 months due to pregnancy she self weaned. Youngest is 12 months and still nursing strong. Babies usually nurse more at night it is actually more likely your son will wean himself during the day than at night. The reason being during day someone is hold touching comforting holding him but at night he wants and need the comfort and support and using the breastfeeding as a way to get it. Hope this helps. Keep on nursing mama! Sorry for typos

I actually have to agree with Coey on this one,you need your sleep,he's plenty old enough to switch to milk, just do it.

I'm assuming you don't nurse because it's so much more than just milk and it's not as easy as just doing it.
